Adding an Alert

  1. Select ‘PATIENTS’ in the toolbar
  2. Search and select the patient for whom you want to add an alert
  3. Go to the ‘Alerts’ tab under Patient Record
  4. Select ‘Create Definition’ 
  5. Fill in Alert Parameters and Save
  6. Under Configuration, select ‘Add Rule’
  7. Fill in Rule Parameters and Submit

Alert Parameters 

Patient : Name of the Patient

Name : Name of the Alert

Starting Alert Level : Urgency level the alert starts at

Max Alert Level: Highest level the alert can reach upon escalation

Escalation Delay Period : Time before the alert is escalated

Repeat Delay Period : Time before the alert is resent

Alert Repeat Limit : Number of times an alert is repeated

Alert is Active : If the alert will be sent

  • Systolic Blood Pressure (mmHg)

Rule Types

  • Differential Percent Maximum/Minimum
    • Baseline Value – A measurement to define a normal value
    • Differential (%) – Percent difference from baseline at which the rule is triggered
  • Differential Value Maximum/Minimum
    • Baseline Value – A measurement to define a normal value
    • Differential  – Numerical difference from baseline at which the rule is triggered
  • Maximum/Minimum Value
    • Threshold Value – Value at which rule is triggered
  • No Reading in X Days
    • Days – Number of days without measurement before the rule is triggered
  • No Reading in X Hours
    • Hours – Number of hours without measurement before the rule is triggered
